Updated Mask Protocol

We are excited to see changes coming in regards to COVID!  As a Health Care setting, we are still required to utilize masks in our office for both our staff and patients.  We certainly appreciate your cooperation and understanding!

American Optometric Association (AOA) Statement:

“On May 13, 2021, the CDC updated guidance for wearing a mask or physically distancing to protect individuals from COVID-19 disease among individuals who have been fully vaccinated. These new CDC recommendations are intended to help individuals make decisions about daily activities after being fully vaccinated, but they are not intended for health care settings. CDC guidance for health care settings where health care is delivered including, but not limited to; physician offices like optometry offices and others was last updated April 27, 2021, and remains in effect. Importantly CDC recommendations for use of personal protective equipment by health care personnel remain unchanged”

Hospitality House is Our February Giving Focus

The mission of Hospitality House is to create community for patients connecting to vital medical care.

Hey Leigh!

I am so thrilled that you and Carolinas Vision Group have chosen to support Howard’s campaign for Hospitality House of Charlotte (HHOC)! We strive to create community for patients connecting to vital medical care. Our 20-bedroom facility is a home for those unable to receive care near their homes. Most of our patients are battling cancer, transplant, an cardiac issues. The hospitals also have local trauma patients’ families come in town to and stay with us to be close to bedside when a 20 – 30 minute drive within Charlotte city limits is just too far in touch-and-go situations. We are across the street from Atrium (main) and guests stay with us for just $45/night. We have a financial assistance option for those guests that cannot afford our nominal fee. It is our desire that no one needing medical care is turned away due to an inability to pay.

On April 30, 2019, there was a shooting on the UNC Charlotte campus and Drew Pescaro was one of the shooting victims. Drew’s family stayed with us at Hospitality House as the entire community prayed for his healing. We were able to support them through one of every parent’s worst nightmares. Drew is still on the road to recovery and his fraternity members are also raising funds for us during this campaign. Our campaign video this year features Drew:

I am incredibly touched that you would allow Hospitality House of Charlotte to benefit from your generosity with a $1,000 gift. I would love to give you a tour of HHOC.

CVG Welcomes You Back with Open Offices

CVG Welcomes You Back!

We are so excited to be able to open back up for patient care this week! Here are some of the things we want you to know about before you come to the office for your next visit. We have made some exciting changes and also some that will keep all of us safe and healthy for the long haul. Our Ballantyne office will open 5/13 for patient care and our Rea Farms office will start on 5/15. See you soon!

  • When you call for your appointment, our guest services people will direct you to our patient portal which is part of the updated computer system. It will allow you to update any of your information and have access to your records or message us with any needs.
  • When you arrive, our concierge will meet you at the front door and will:
    • Ask you our brief COVID questions.
    • Check your temperature. If over 100 on 3 consecutive checks, we will ask you to reschedule for another day.  Please understand that we would rather see you but want
    • Allow you to sanitize your hands.
    • Sign into your appointment on our iPad.
  • We will ask that you come alone to your appointment unless others with you also have an appointment. Those that are care-givers or parents of minors may accompany them.
  • All of our staff will be checking their temperatures every morning and we will be cleaning between every patient throughout the day. They will have to answer the same COVID questions daily.
  • If you have a mask, please bring it with you. We have some on order and will be happy to provide them now and in the future if you do not have one already. Our staff will all be wearing masks.
  • Starting next week, we will have specific patient care hours for anyone who is more at risk for contacting COVID. Just ask about these times when making your appointment.
  • Once the concierge has you ready, our technician will take you for pre-testing to include the Optomap retinal imaging. We have decided to provide as much of our exam as possible with the least amount of touch to provide comfort and safety. The Optomap also allows for the best possible description of your retina. The charge for this service has been reduced from $39 to $34 since we are making this a part of our examination process going forward.
  • For those that visit our optical boutique, our frame stylists will guide you through the process and use their expertise to find just the right style and fit for your face!

We will continue this mode of care as long as it is necessary to continue to keep you, our staff and our community safe and comfortable. At Carolinas Vision Group, we care how you see us!
